As Seen in An evening with Tatler and Risis ahead of the Orchid Gala
- 2 June 2026
Tatler Singapore welcomed guests to Tatler House for an intimate evening with Risis, marking the Singapore heritage brand’s 50th anniversary and offering a first look at its upcoming Orchid Gala.
On a Tuesday evening, Tatler Singapore hosted an intimate event in partnership with Risis—the heritage brand behind one of Singapore's most enduring creative traditions. Across two sessions, guests gathered at Tatler House for an evening of jewellery, conversation, and a preview of RISIS's upcoming Orchid Gala.

The occasion marked something of a milestone moment. This year, Risis celebrates its Golden Jubilee: fifty years since the brand pioneered the art of preserving Singapore's national flower—the orchid—in precious metal, transforming a living bloom into an enduring object. It is a process that remains as painstaking as it sounds, and one that has made Risis a singular presence in Singapore's cultural landscape. Few local brands can claim to have so quietly, so consistently, woven themselves into the country's identity.
Following opening remarks by Annabel Tan, watches and jewellery editor at Tatler Singapore, Frances Koh, vice president of marketing and sustainability at Risis, introduced guests to the brand’s 50-year journey and the values that continue to shape its evolution. She spoke about Risis’s longstanding relationship with Singapore’s national flower, the craftsmanship behind its creations, and the role the brand has played in translating a symbol of local heritage into contemporary objects of design and meaning.

Koh also offered guests an early look at the inaugural Orchid Gala, sharing the vision behind the initiative and its ambition to celebrate Singapore creativity, biodiversity and philanthropy on a larger stage. Taking place on 31 July at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, the gala is envisioned as a landmark gathering that brings together patrons, cultural leaders and tastemakers in support of conservation and community impact.
Funds raised will benefit organisations including the Garden City Fund by NParks, Daughters of Tomorrow, United Women Singapore and The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund. A key feature of the initiative is the Orchid Naming programme, which allows supporters to name a living orchid hybrid—an enduring gesture that reflects both legacy and Singapore’s deep botanical heritage.

Later in the evening, guests participated in a floral arrangement workshop—a natural extension of the brand’s enduring connection to orchids and botanical artistry. The hands-on activity brought a relaxed, convivial energy to the gathering, offering guests a moment of creative engagement while allowing them to leave with their own personalised arrangement.
As Risis enters its Jubilee year, the brand stands at a meaningful intersection of past and future. The Orchid Gala, in many ways, signals this transition—grounded in five decades of craft, yet looking ahead to a broader role in shaping how Singapore’s cultural identity is expressed on the global stage.
