RISIS invites Daughters Of Tomorrow to Celebrate the Spirit of Christmas In a Heartfelt Exchange of Love and Gifts to Mothers and Their Daughters

[19 December 2025] –  This Christmas, RISIS brought the season of giving to life through a meaningful and joy-filled gift exchange with Daughters Of Tomorrow (DOT), a non-profit organization supporting single mothers towards gainful employment and better future. Together in partnership with Jian Yang, renowned Barbie collector, and creative talent behind #flushablefashion and Toyspedia (Mattel Singapore), the intimate event at RISIS Atelier welcomed a group of women and their children for a memorable session celebrating love and appreciation for one another.

The highlight of the event was a deeply moving gift exchange experience that celebrated the quiet strength of mothers and the power of familial bonds. Children were invited to personally select a RISIS jewellery piece for their mothers. Each design was thoughtfully crafted to honour their often unseen resilience, empowering the young participants to express love and gratitude in a meaningful and lasting way. To further personalise the moment, every child was given a “Wishes for Mommy” card to pen heartfelt messages of encouragement and appreciation.

Adding a joyful and symbolic twist, the roles were then reversed as mothers surprised their daughters with brand new Barbie doll collectibles, sponsored by RISIS. These were no ordinary dolls. Each Barbie was uniquely designed by Jian Yang and featured a sustainable dress ingeniously handmade from RISIS festive wrapping papers. Everyday materials were transformed into wearable art, ensuring that every doll was truly one-of-a-kind.

The collaboration beautifully wove together RISIS’ commitment to sustainability with Jian Yang’s imaginative storytelling through design. To complete the experience, participants were treated to an exclusive mini tour of a Barbie Doll Exhibition, “Wings of Christmas,” held at the Wisma Atria Atrium. The exhibition showcases over 70 Barbie dolls adorned in sustainable fashion designed by Singaporean artists, with selected pieces contributing to a silent auction that runs until 26 December 2025.

In addition to the specially designed Barbie wrapped in RISIS festive papers, each girl also received a brand new Barbie Collectible doll sponsored by Toyspedia. Presented in its original box, this additional gift offered the girls the delight of saving it for a meaningful unwrapping moment at home.

What makes this collaboration especially meaningful is the way mothers and children personally choose gifts for one another with love. Seeing young children express such thoughtfulness and emotional maturity in supporting their mothers was deeply moving. Through this shared experience, we hope to honour the strength of these families and celebrate the spirit of care and understanding that defines the festive season,” Verene Ng, CEO of RISIS.

Moments like these remind us that empowerment goes beyond employment — it is also about affirmation, dignity and being seen. This heartfelt exchange allowed our mothers and children to celebrate one another in ways that build confidence, connection and joy. We are deeply grateful to RISIS and our partners for creating a space where love, creativity and hope could be shared so meaningfully,” said Kaylee Kua, Executive Director of Daughters Of Tomorrow.
